The Pacific Mesothelioma Center’s 7th yearly 5K Walk/Hike for Mesothelioma is a significant event in the struggle for a treatment, with the objective of raising capital to find improved treatment choices for this cancer.
PMC is a specialization treatment and research center whose job offers hope for individuals and families affected by mesothelioma.
This year’s event is Oct. 21 in 9 a.m. at the renowned Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills, California, just outside Los Angeles.
I’d encourage you to attend.

I will tell you from previous experience, the occasion is inspirational, uplifting, personally rewarding and also a very good exercise, too.
You may feel great about being there.
Handling Editor Representing Asbestos.com Team
Walter Pacheco, our managing editor of Asbestos.com, is taking the torch this season.
After decades of hearing me rave about the event, he desired a closer look.
What he will see is enormous camaraderie among the participants, that comprise mesothelioma survivors, their loved ones, friends, health employees, well-wishers and also a great deal of those who only think in the excellent work being done in the Pacific Mesothelioma Center.
The bonding that occurs in the 5K is really moving. Everybody is dedicated to a singular, well-defined reason — to increase money and awareness to combat a rare and aggressive cancer.
Walter is eager to become a part of the group. I believe a good deal of others are, also.
In my previous trip, I left a lot of new friends. There was also the newly diagnosed patient who’s doing well, the relative who had been there to honor a loved one he dropped to mesothelioma, and yet another person who only wished to find out more about this disorder.
The family-friendly walk attracts participants of all ages. Over 300 individuals attended last year’s event, which surpassed its $150,000 goal by increasing 160,900 for mesothelioma study.
There were lots of smiles and a great deal of laughter.
An Uplifting Experience
This cancer might be cruel and punishing, but this occasion isn’t a somber event. Just the opposite. Trust me. It is quite uplifting, optimistic and encouraging.
They serve breakfast prior to the increase, a fantastic lunch then and give away all sorts of great prizes, largely donated from the regional companies that are pleased to participate in such a worthwhile event.
They will have a live auction along with a group playing, also. The master of ceremonies this season is Larry Wilcox, star of this classic TV series”CHiPs.”
It is going to be a day to remember.
Walk Where the Stars Walked
there’s a great deal of history in the event website, too.
The Paramount Ranch is scenic, taking you back in time. Even in case you’ve never been, you may recognize some of this scene from old Western movies and TV shows.
Bob Hope was there 75 years back when he filmed”Caught in the playoffs” Gary Cooper and Claudette Colbert walked the grounds. “The Cisco Kid” and”Tombstone Territory” shot episodes .
More recently, Sandra Bullock filmed scenes from”The Lake House” (2006) in Paramount Ranch. Scenes in the popular HBO series”Westworld” was filmed there.
It is a neat sense when you look around.
However, more to the point, by participating, you are helping finance much-needed mesothelioma study.
You will observe families and patients from various walks of life come together and form support groups that will endure for ages.
You will probably get an opportunity to satisfy thoracic surgeon Dr. Robert Cameron, one of America’s leading authorities on mesothelioma.
He is the driving force behind the Pacific Mesothelioma Center. I met a few people last time said they owe their life and what he’s done.
Should you or a loved one have been affected by mesothelioma, then think about attending this fantastic fundraising event.
You will be happy you did.
